What is The UK Right 2 Rent Register?

We are a social enterprise delivering practical housing services for tenants and landlords impacted by the UK housing crisis.

Our flagship initiative is a free, voluntary UK registration scheme that helps genuine prospective tenants affected by housing discrimination to stand out to private landlords.

Why is housing discrimination increasing?

  • Growing use of false documents presented as Right to Rent evidence

  • Perceived higher risk of rogue tenants linked to certain demographics

  • Additional costs of adapting properties for disabled tenants

  • Government online checking systems failing to reduce landlords’ fear of prosecution

UK renters most affected by covert discriminatory practices:

  • Low-income British renters

  • Ethnic minorities

  • Young people aged 16–30

How we can help:
We invite genuine prospective tenants to register and create a confidential, CV-style record of their UK letting history for future referencing. This includes verified Right to Rent evidence, plus:

  • Previous landlord contacts 

  • Rent guarantor contacts (where available)

  • Previous landlord contacts & references 

Registration enables users to:

  • Share their profile information  with prospective landlords

  • Access exclusive tenant services, including available rental properties

Information captured at registration allows private landlords to carry out their own due diligence on prospective tenants i.e  communicating directly with previous landlords, current employers, rent guarantors, and others. This alongside standard tenant referencing can assit landlords to rent with greater confidence to applicants from affected tenant demographics.
